Paul, it is in the back issue of the vboost. Wire it up as Tyler Pennock drew it. You can substitute 5 amp diodes for the 4 amp. Will work fine. Don "Old Man" Smith ------------------ From: Larry McGowan To: "vmax@butterfly.esosoft.net" , V-Max Tech List Subject: More About the DRL300 Rev Limiter Message-ID: <380511A3.E363A1CC@mags.net> Hi, Here's some more info about the Dyna DRL 300 for those who are interested: The diodes (aka Ultra Fast Rectifiers) were purchased from Newark Electronics: http://www.newark.com/ I used Motorola Part # MUR4100E @ $0.96 (same as spec'd by Tyler Pennock in V-Boost Vol.2 Issue 1) They don't have a minimum order but do charge an extra $5 for orders under $25. The DRL300 came from Motorcycle Accessories (good price!): http://www.accwhse.com/dyna.htm If you take off the top of the Dyna you can hide all four diodes neatly inside the box and can just run the wires back out. All the electronics have been dipped in a black epoxy coating, so there's no chance of disturbing anything. The unit fits nicely in front of the airbox cover in the space behind the coolant filler cap, no mounting required. With the fake tank in place, it can't go anywhere. I also mated it to an automotive type 6-pin connector so it's easy to disconnect if you need to get at the airfilter, carbs, etc. The 3 dipswitches inside the DRL300 should be set for Single Coil Triggering (i.e. OFF,OFF,ON) and you'll also need to cut the orange jumper wire loop. It's my understanding that the function of the diodes is "protection" for the rev limiter and don't affect it's general operation. Remember that the striped end of the diode goes toward the DRL! Hope this helps......... Larry McGowan VMOA#114
