Shimming should not be necessary.
There are two washers of different thickness that go on each end of the
rear wheel axle - but might get put bac into the wrong place, causing the
offset. The thick washer goes on the left, gear side, while the thinner one
goes in between the notch of the swingarm and rear caliper bracket. Putting
it somewhere else will offset that rear disk and cause drag. The caliper
has a manufacturing groove from the mold that aligns nicely with the center
of the disc - at least it should.
