It is a ceramic base sheet, 5/16 thick, 17-18" long. You simply wrap the core as tight as possible to get as much as you can on there and slip it back in the can. Cost is less than 15.00 last time I bought it,less than a year ago. Still have the original in can on bike now,4 yr's. old. Don "Old Man" Smith ---------------------------------- Subject: Re: Vmax Baffle packing... Cory, my experience is that packing material is very important. It is best to stuff as much as possible in. Wrap it very tight, and use electrical tape to make a couple of raps to contain it (it will burn off). This changed my jetting, as I repacked after I jetted. WRONG. Had to jet all over again. The theory as I understand it, has something to do with the sonic waves or pulses of sound. With thin or no packing, they bounce around in the can producing resistance. With lots of packing they travel out in the most expeditious manner, resulting in peak hp, and in my case, had to jet all over again, as it was that effective. JimY
