Cheryl, I don't have a hindle (any longer), but I just repacked my muffler.
Bought the fiberglass packing from a motorcycle place, though I hear pink
fiberglass works just as well. Remove the end cap, (Drill if pop rivets, or
unscrew if secured with screwes or allens). Remove the center core.
Probabley will be empty, mine was. Rap as much (cut to witdth) around the
core as you think you can and still get it back in the can. Cut, and secure
thigtly, with string or black electircal tape. Stuff it back in. Should
replace some growl with a little purr. Hope you haven't rejeted since you put
it on because jetting, is definatly affected. (Running with an empty can
causes loss of hp. Something to do with sonic waves bouncing around the empty
can or something) Have you thought about using a Dale Walker into 2 addition.
Picks up about 3 hp over the into 1 setup and is much quieter. Other muffler
is on the left side. Some people like the look better too. There is a into 2
set-up that puts the other muff. on the same side. Really neat looking, but
don't know how well it will accomidate a back seat passenger, or if it will
work on a hindle. Jim Y. 437
