Up date on MAXPAX ignition control units:

Late model (90 and up) prototype unit is completed, now in long-term
testing, both dragstrip and street miles....

Features-Benefits:

Multi-spark discharge-the MAX now runs good numbers right off the
street, at the track, WITHOUT changing to new plugs... sounds like more
efficient mixture burn, and better plug cleaning, to me....

Adjustable rev limiter-now the ability to not only adjust limits, but
the limiter alternates between
1-3, and 2-4, to prevent loading cylinders, this limiter can also be
tapped into shift light, and eliminates the need for diff light 'chips'.

Two-step limiter switch- gives the ability to set a 'clutch-in' mode,
and a full on limiter, for consistent launches....all controlled by a
switch, could be setup off the clutch(sidestand) switch itself, with
adjustable delay.....

Ignition curve settings-Stock curve, for highway driving, and a choice
of 3 preset curves, for dragstrip, road course, and super/turbo charged;
as well as a plugin port, for custom curves, from an optional software
program.(U will be able to plug your MAX into your laptop, and set your
curves yourself, if desired).
Future developments here will include upgrades, to provide info from
your run, rpm, shift points, possibly even engine temps/pressures, to be
offloaded to the same laptop, after the run, for  instant and accurate
analysis of run.....

Shift interrupter port-can tie into your electric or air shifter, with
adjustable delay.

Fully adjustable total advance-gives the ability to set total advance to
the exact advance desired, for normally aspirated, and the retard
necessary, in un-normally aspirated VMAX applications.

This unit has been dyno tested, with no other changes, with no HP gains
seen in initial testing, but combined with carb
mixture changes, gains are expected... At the track, however, times have
made their way down, from mid 11s, to a best of 10.8s, with the MAX
being much easier to drive and launch consistently....

I may have missed some features; was pleasantly surprised with how many;
these are the main ones....

Initially, list price will be $400. exchange, $350. VMOA.(core required-
may have a few 'donors' avail. for sale)
Plans for the future to include boxes sold outright, in new cases.....

 Late model units to be avail. early 1999, early models to
follow(getting a 'test mule' for early boxes, should be sometime soon).
