Apply grease lightly." Does the service manual tell ho I drilled & tapped a small hole in the pivot tube of my swingarm when I replaced the bearings. Screwed in a grease nipple and angled it so as to be reached with a grease gun without removing anything! Real simple procedure & ensures an ample supply of grease to the bearings at all times. Bob Taylor, gtsbiker -------------------------------------------------- I am a fairly new owner of a GTS 1000, having purchased it in November, 1996. Recently, I had the 4,000 mile service performed at the dealer, after which I took a ride of about 1,700 miles through the Smoky Mountain National Park area, Deals Gap, Hot Springs, etc. Upon returning home, I noticed that the front tire was cupped, although it was in good shape when I left home. I had the tire pressures 38 front, 43 rear. Also, upon examination of the motorcycle, I found that I could move the rear wheel about .450 inch. I took the bike to the dealer, and he replaced the swing arm shaft, bearings, spacers, etc. The mechanic told me that the shaft was machined undersize, and the one that he installed was of a larger diameter. The smaller diameter shaft was moving against the needle bearings causing the play in the swing arm. I have read the tire archives and have seen that a lot of other people seem to experience cupping of the stock D202 front tire. These are only observations that I have made. Any comments would be welcome. Thanks! Tom Beasley RZ500, F1B, 750 SEI, GTS 1000
