John, finding the right parts for the 530 conversion (correct sprocket sizes and chain length) is a bit of a pain in the ass. But you shouldn't have to wait. A few years ago, Kevin Hawkins and others just called a parts supply house and were able to order a 530 conversion kit (e.g., from Competition Accessories). However, when I tried a few months back, they no longer have the conversion kits for the GTS. However, I got a hold of the Sprocket Specialists catalog (www.motorcyclesprockets.com), and with some research from the GTS archives, I ascertained the correct sprocket part numbers (and I performed the conversion a few months back). [You should be able to order Sprocket Specialists sprockets and chains from your local moto supply house.] FRONT STEEL SPROCKET: PART NO. 5144 (if you want the standard no. of teeth, order the 17 tooth, but they do offer a tooth range from 13 to 17). REAR SPROCKET STEEL: PART NO. 321S (standard no. of teeth is 47, but they also offer a 42. If you want something less than 47 but greater than 42, you have to go to aluminum). REAR ALUMINUM: PART NO. 321 (tooth range is from 38 all the way up to 71). If you go with the aluminum, pay the extra $10 or so and get the "titan tough," which is a hard anodizing process that they claim achieves a surface hardness exceeding 60 on the Rockwell B scale (whatever that is). I had a 45 tooth Titan Tough rear sprocket (532 size) that after 20,000 miles showed almost no wear. They also can color the rear sprockets now. 530 CHAIN: AS FAR AS THE CHAIN LENGTH IS CONCERNED, I READ FROM THE ARCHIVES THAT WHEN ORDERING A 530 CHAIN, YOU NEED TO GET A SLIGHTLY LONGER CHAIN (apparently b/c the 530 links are slightly shorter than the 432 links). SINCE THE ORIGINAL 532 CHAIN IS 118 LINKS, I READ IN THE GTS ARCHIVES THAT YOU NEED A 120 LINK 530 CHAIN. SO, THAT'S WHAT I ORDERED (120 LINKS). HOWEVER, AFTER INSTALLING NEW 530 SIZED 17 TOOTH FRONT AND 45 TOOTH REAR SPROCKETS, I HAD TO TAKE 2 LINKS OFF OF THE NEW 530 CHAIN. (HOWEVER, I DON'T KNOW IF A 118 WILL WORK IF YOU GET THE STANDARD 47 TOOTH REAR SPROCKET!) Hope that helps those that have not yet done the 530 conversion. Mike 530 and 532 should be the same length - the first digit is pitch length in 1/8ths of an inch, in this case 5/8". 532 used to be stronger. You get the 120 link length 'cause that's the standard length. Bill
