Anyone know if the wheels on the GTS are clear coated or just metal with no coating. Any recommended polishes that won't harm the wheels? With all the talk about brakes does anyone have experience with Speed Bleeder Products? These folks were advertised in MCN a while back and replace the bleeder valves with new bleeder valves that have a spring and ball arrangement to act as a pop off valve allowing you to bleed the brakes by yourself. I've got to change rear pads very soon and wondered if anyone had experience with this product as this may be a good time to replace the stock bleeders and replace the fluid. They claim to have the correct size (he said 8mm x 1.25 mm anyone know if this is correct?). This stuff is incredible. I use it on my woodstoves and have seen no deterioration of the polish under heat. Also have applied this to the rims/exposed metal on the GTS. The sealant (step #2 of the system) actually seals the metal from corrosive contaminants like battery acid and brake dust/water combination. I can't personally vouch for the battery acid test, but since putting MAAS onto the rims I have seen ZERO brake dust eating into the aluminum. Also the chain lube that does make it's way onto the rim wipes off with a rag and some cleaner. I use Can-Do cleaner. This seems to be one of the best and works great for removing chain lube/brake dust/etc. For another reference read Motorcycle Consumer News (I can't recall which month Dec97 or Jan98?). As far as bleeding the brakes I use a Vacuum Pump for bleeding the brakes. This method only requires one person, and since bleeding the brakes with the pump I haven't noticed a air bubble problem in the rear brakes. Of course all of this is IMHO. Unless it works, then I told you so. :) Louis Tweed ------------------- By the way, do not touch the clutch lever while the cover is off the reservoir cover is off. Fluid will shoot out like a squirt gun (do not ask me how I know!)
